Toxic Smog Takes Over Lahore.

Over the few days now,as winter eventually descends,Lahore and other areas of northern punjab have been enveloped by a thick layer of fog affecting the daily lives.Sunshine has become invisible as haze spreads over the sky.Motorways have been reportedly closed off  and flights may soon have to be delayed or cancelled.

Special measures are being taken to prevent accidents and other possible mishaps.On the other hand the misty weather is being enjoyed by some who assume it to be a natural phenomenon and a climatic condition.

However,the thick layer understood to be winters fog is a poisonous smog carrying serious health hazards.

Smog is basically a combination of two words;smoke and fog which means that these two are amalgamated due to increasing vehicular and industrial emissions.

Exposure of smog may lead to many different types of short term health problems due to its ozone content.These includes:

-Avoid being outside around high traffic areas and during rush hours to avoid exposure to smog
-If you are outside,take lots of rest breaks in the shade and drink plenty of fluids.
-Reschedule strenuous outside work or exercise until the alert is over.
