Film Raees featuring Pakistani actress Mahira Khan and the king of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan is set to release on January 25th. However, it seems Shiv Sena is not quite happy about it.
According to a report by Indian Express, SRK made a deal with Mahrashtra Navinrman Sena that he will not include his co-star Mahira Khan in their film promotion, to maintain harmony among both nations.
However, film exhibitors in Chhattisgarh recently received threats from Shiv Sena.

In the threat letter, Rakesh Shinde, head of Chhattisgarh asked the exhibitors not to screen Raees in Durg and Bhilai. And if they failed to so, they will be responsible for all the consequences.
Apparently, this threat letter has been sent to all the promoters in Chhattisgarh forcing them for a ban on Raees. The letter was issued January 5TH.
Akshaye Rathi says, “This letter should be taken very seriously by all the exhibitors.”
Banning a film that has already been approved by CBFC is a great loss for the industry. At the time when PK was released, a cinema in Bhilai was vandalised and it cost the promoters approximately 6lacs. It is because of these un-necessary bans that people ultimately end up buying pirated copies which causes a great loss.
These threats are reported to the police and the promoters plan to contact the Chief Minister for a smooth and peaceful release of the film.
