“No More Valentines Day Celebrations In Pakistan”orders (IHC)

And that time of the year is around the corner again where Valentines Day draws a mixed response from Pakistani citizens with some in favour of celebrating it while others protesting its observance.

On Monday 13th Feb the Islamabad High Court (IHC) prohibited  the celebrations of Valentines Day in public places and government offices across the  country with immediate effect. Moreover the Print and Electronic Media have  also been warned to “Stop” all Valentines Day promotions immediately, while PEMRA has been ordered to monitor all mediums and send out notifications banning any related promotions. 

The petition  that has been signed further which calls for a ban stating that “In cover of spread of love infact,immorality, nudity and indecency is being promoted  which is against our rich culture ” Moreover such celebrations are “Against Islamic teachings and sould be banned immediately. ”
