Female Pakistani footballer Shalyla Baloch passed away today in a car skid accident that occurred in the Karachi DHA Phase VIII area.
She was from Quetta, Pakistan and played for Balochistan United WF which is the current champion women football team of Pakistan. She started playing football when she was seven years old and received the FIFA’s youngest players award at the age of seven. She has been awarded as the best player of Pakistan thrice i.e. 2009, 2011 and 2013.
Maradona and Messi were her role models and her dream was to play internationally for the women’s club of Barcelona.
In an interview she once stated that:
“The concept of women being in the kitchen is a bit too old. The image of women in Pakistan is totally different now, they are deriving education and developing in every sector of life.”
Her death is a great loss for the nation of Pakistan and our condolences are with her friends and family.
