The film producer Hamid Salman is all set to make a film on the life of famous Pakistani philanthropist, humanitarian and ascetic Abdul Sattar Edhi. His role in the movie will be played by Bollywood actor Naseerudin Shah. Edhi died on 8th July 2016 in Karachi due to kidney failure and left the whole nation in tears.
While talking to a newspaper Hamid Salman said,” Edhi was a symbol of peace, love, humanity and fraternity. He made us and our country proud all over the globe. So through this film we are trying to pay a tribute to his selfless efforts for humanity.”

The prominent founder of Edhi foundation was famous for his simple lifestyle and social work which wasn’t limited to Pakistan only. He was also known as Angel of mercy and supported religious tolerance in the country via helping victims of Hurricane Katrina and people in Ethiopia.
Edhi was nominated for several awards which includes Nobel Peace Prize, Lenin Peace Prize (1988), Nishan-e-Imtiaz (1989) and Wolf of Bhogio Peace Award (2005), Italy.
It has been announced that ten percent of the film’s profit will be given to Edhi Foundation.
